Welcome to my new blog!
I've gone back and forth about whether I should start this blog over the past year. There are already so many blogs out there. While I would love to do something that could potentially help others, there are already so many that do this. What could I possibly add? When I brought this up to my dear friend, Merritt, this was her response:
I say, if it’s of value to you, that’s enough.
And so here we are. I've decided that it really doesn't matter if this blog is amazing, life-changing, or perfect. I've found that I need creative outlets in my life to feel balanced. I see this blog as an avenue for putting everything I love into one place, ranging from recipes and interior design to wellness and mental health resources.
When I was in grad school, I spent a few months sending emails out every so often to friends and family that included quotes and ideas that I had been inspired by that week. I was having a hard time coping with the stress of my PhD program, and I found that not only doing research on how to live more happily and healthfully during challenging times, but sharing what I found with others, was incredibly helpful to me. I don't think I have all of the answers, but if I feel like I am contributing more to the world than just my own little bubble, or at least trying to, it helps.
So, in a way, I am revamping those morning emails in a different format here. I gain so much from my family, friends, other blogs, etc., and I would love to be able to share it all. And what better time to share uplifting, beautiful, or practical things than during a global pandemic?
So, I'd like to say thank you for being here, and I am excited to share a lot of wonderful things with you!
